Sill and Persons Kryddskåp tea towels are some of our most beloved classics in the kitchen. Here in a 2-pack in blue color. The tea towels are woven in a mix of cotton and linen, which makes them both durable and soft. The material is of high quality and has a good absorbency.
In the 1950s, printed tea towels were a novelty and they became very popular in Sweden. Astrid Sampe’s Persons Kryddskåp, dedicated to the ceramist Signe Persson Melin, who in the early fifties made a series of ceramic spice jars with cork heads, is one of the patterns that attracted a lot of attention and which even today is one of our most appreciated patterns. It was also called "gångehandduk" and is a little longer in the measurements.
The pattern Sill was created already in 1955 by Marianne Nilsson for the collection Linnelinjen. With its playful motif of small herring fillets it has become one of Almedahls’ most beloved patterns. From the beginning the pattern had the name Sillsexa, but nowadays it is more known simply as Sill – a motif that stands just as strong now as in the 1950s.
