Persons kryddskåp, oil cloth is a wipeable oil cloth in half linen that is easy to clean with a damp cloth. The tablecloth is made of cotton and treated with a water-repellent surface to resist spills and stains. It has a thin coating of acrylic (not PVC).

Persons kryddskåp (Person’s spice cupboard) is part of the Linnelinjen product line from 1955. Linnelinjen was developed for the H55 exhibition in Helsingborg and marked a new approach to household textiles. Everything didn’t have to remain as it always had been.

Previously, nearly all linen was plain white, but Astrid Sampe introduced color to tablecloths, towels, and napkins. The patterns were often simple and geometric. A number of towels were created for H55, including Person’s Spice Cupboard, inspired by Signe Persson-Melin’s spice jars.
