During the 1950s, printed tea towels were a novelty and they became very popular in Sweden. Astrid Sampe's Persons kryddskåp (Person's spice cabinet), dedicated to the ceramist Signe Persson Melin, who in the early fifties made a series of ceramic spice jars with cork heads, is one of the designs that attracted a lot of attention and is still one of our most popular designs today.
